California Apostille Services

Validate Documents Internationally

When documents need to be used in another country, they often require additional verification beyond notarization. That's where apostilles and authentication certificates come in.

I help guide clients through the apostille and document authentication process with clarity professionalism, and personalized service.

What is an Apostille?

An apostille is an official certificate issued by the Secretary of State that verifies the authenticity of a Notary Public's seal and signature on a document. It confirms document authentication process, allowing one certificate--the apostille--to be accepted by participating countries.

Once issued, the apostille is attached to your notarized document and is ready for international use.

What is an Authentication Certificate?

If the destination country is not part of the Hague Apostille Convention, the document may require a more involved process called authentication of legalization.

This process can include certifications from:

The California Secretary of State

The U.S. Department of State

The Consulate of Embassy of the destination of the country

Additional foreign government agencies, depending on the country

Requirements and processing times vary by country.

Common Documents That May Require an Apostille or Authentication

Documents commonly processed for international use include:

Birth Certificates

Marriage Certificates

Affidavits

Corporate documents

Trust & Estate Documents

Background Checks

Income Verification Documents

Death Certificates

Power of Attorney

Diplomas & Transcripts

If you are unsure whether your document qualifies, I can help point you in the right direction.

Important to know
